Eleanor McGillie is Worldwide Financial Planning’s Head of Brand Communications. She is based in Northern Ireland and works with her colleagues in Cornwall, Southampton, Somerset and Northern Ireland.


Eleanor McGillie joined our firm as Head of Brand Communications in June 2021 and is charged with writing and implementing communication strategies for our firm. She will lead the launch of our rebrand, deliver our key messages to our audiences which span across multiple publishing platforms.

Eleanor, who is based in Northern Ireland, but is no stranger to the Westcountry, will provide the direction of communications within our firm, writing and implementing strategies, managing communications, managing our brand as well as event planning and coordinating. She leads all internal and external communications, liaising with both internal and external stakeholders in implementing the firm’s strategies.

Many people in the business community will know of Eleanor. She spent 10 years working in the Westcountry as a senior journalist for Torquay’s Herald Express, she held the assistant news editor and deputy news editor positions at the Western Morning News as well as news editor for Western Daily Press. Since moving back to Northern Ireland she has been managing the brand communications for organisations and businesses both in public and private sectors for nine years.

Back in 2008, Eleanor launched and project managed the Western Morning News’ Think Local campaign which encouraged people to think of their local economy and spend their pound as local as local can be. This was an ongoing campaign which attracted local and national attention in the media and also gained endorsements from prominent politicians at Westminster. This was a campaign which Worldwide Financial Planning was proud to sponsor.

Eleanor says she’s delighted to be working with Worldwide Financial Planning and says she joins a superb team of Independent Financial Advisers who are extremely professional and are proud to say they put their clients’ needs first.

She lives on a smallholding in Northern Ireland in the orchard county. Her family are on a journey to becoming self-sufficient. They enjoy looking after their animals, they grow their own fruit and veg, gather eggs daily from the hens and very much appreciate the simple things country living offers.
