Actor enjoys afternoon in back of car with Devon woman and no super injunction!
With the news dominated by super injunctions a Cornish theatre is pleased to be able to report how the star of several hit TV series enjoyed an afternoon in the back of a car in Port Isaac with a woman from Devon.
Debbie Jeffery from Newton Abbot won the chance to sit next to Doc Martin actor, Martin Clunes, and watch the very first performance in the Hall for Cornwall’s Mini-malism series.
Debbie won the VIP prize to watch ‘Land of Cloaks’ after entering a competition organised by Truro and Wadebridge based Worldwide Financial Planning.
The independent financial advisers, alongside Ocean Falmouth, are sponsoring the series, which has been described as ‘absurd theatre in amazing situations’.
Debbie said: “I had a fantastic day and was given a tour of the Doc Martin sets in Port Isaac before watching ‘Land of Cloaks’ performed in the Mini – sat next to Martin Clunes!
“The whole experience of sitting in the back of a car while the actors performed from the front seats was totally unique. You could see every expression close up and really feel part of the story without any awkwardness.
“Martin ate Smarties and joined in with some of the singing, so I think he had a good time!
“We are both over six foot tall, but there was a surprising amount of legroom in the car.
“I’d like to thank the Hall for Cornwall and Worldwide for arranging such a memorable and slightly surreal day!”
Mini-malism will feature four plays – ‘Thinks’, ‘Nice Day’, ‘Land of Cloaks’, and ‘Breathe with me’ at the King Harry ferry, Perranporth Airfield, Colliford Lake and St Michael’s Mount.
Worldwide’s managing director said: “This is another quirky gem by Hall for Cornwall and we’re really pleased to be able to support such a unique event.
